Construction of the Northern Pipeline along Nelson Road adjacent Milne Road will commence on or after 17 October 2011. This new pipeline is part of SA Water’s North South Interconnection System Project (NSISP), which is designed to improve network flexibility and reliability for Adelaide.

Nelson Road, between the Milne Road roundabout and Barina Avenue, Para Vista. There will be crews working on this section of Nelson Road for approximately 6 – 8 weeks.

Detours:

Stage 1 - Works between the Milne Road (east) roundabout and Milne Road (west):

Access for southbound traffic will be maintained along Nelson Road

Northbound traffic which will be detoured off Nelson Road onto Milne Rd (West), Sleep Road and Miller Avenue then back onto Nelson Road

Traffic travelling along Milne Road (east) to Nelson Road will only be able to turn left at the roundabout. Traffic wishing to head north will be detoured Milne Rd (west), Sleep Road and Miller Avenue.

Stage 2 - Works in front of the Para Vista Shopping Centre:

Access for southbound traffic will be maintained along Nelson Road

Northbound traffic which will be directed to a detour from Nelson Road via Barina Avenue, Warren Road, Kelly Avenue and Milne road (east), then back to the roundabout at Nelson Road

The Para Vista Shopping Centre has three access points, off Warren Road and Milne Road (east). Traffic wishing to access the shops will be directed via the detour at Barina Avenue to the Shopping Centre entrance off Warren Road

Stage 3 - Works between Warren Avenue and Barina Avenue:

Nelson Road will be closed between Warren Road and Barina Avenue while works are undertaken

Traffic will be detoured from Nelson Road via either Barina Avenue for northbound traffic or Warren Avenue for southbound traffic

Things you need to know:

The works will generally be undertaken between 7am and 9pm Monday to Saturday

From 17 October, side streets with access to Nelson Road will be closed. However, as soon as we construct our pipeline past the local side streets, we will re-open them to Nelson Road

Buses will use the Milne Road (west)/Sleep Road/Miller Road route. Please check local signage
